Enhanced Recovery of Zn from Carbonate-Type Mixed Oxidized Ore (CMO) by Combining Organic Acid Leaching with Mechanical Activation

چکیده

With excessive consumption of sulfide ores, using low-grade Pb-Zn mixed ores to obtain Zn has attracted more attention. Acid leaching is an effective method for recovery; however, a high concentration inorganic acid brings severe environmental issues, including acidic wastewater, contaminated soil, etc. Compared with acid, organic showed lower acidity and toxicity. Herein, we applied recovery from carbonate-type ore (CMO), by combining mechanical activation. Among the acids (lactic, malonic, citric, amber, acetic, tartaric one), lactic was selected its efficiency. The optimum condition identified via response surface methodology, 1.15 mol/L, L/S ratio 20, time 75 min, temperature °C. effect activation on further investigated. efficiency increased 90.1% after activation, which highest leaching. Mineralogical characterization that bulk minerals were milled into small particles while proportion amorphization increased. Such effects improved acid-solubility speciation. This work provided potential green metal sources.

Investigation of leaching kinetics of zinc from a low-grade ore in organic and inorganic acids

The leaching kinetics of a low-grade zinc oxide ore in different acid media was investigated with respect to the experimental variables including acid concentration, temperature, liquid to solid (L/S) ratio, and stirring speed. The results obtained showed that the leaching reagent concentration and the reaction temperature exerted significant effects on the extraction of zinc, whereas the L/S r...

Effect of Mechanical Activation on the Kinetics of Ammoniacal Thiosulfate Leaching of a Refractory Oxide Gold Ore

The effect of mechanical activation on the kinetics of ammoniacal thiosulfate leaching of a refractory oxide gold ore containing 2.8 ppm Au was investigated. The gold extraction of 99.81% was achieved by 16 h leaching of a sample mechanically activated for 60 minutes. The gold extraction observed for a similar reference sample without mechanical activation was only 55%. Studies revealed that le...

Leaching of Lead and Zinc from a Low-Grade Oxide Ore in Citric Acid Media

Leaching of a low-grade lead and zinc oxide ore was studied by an organic reagent, citric acid. The quadratic mathematical models were developed for the relationship among the influential parameters and lead and zinc recoveries. Leaching rate was strongly affected by the interactive effects of factors. It was also found that the quadratic effects of stirring speed and linear<e...
